An experimental movie with the purpose to reconstruct the achievement of kinetic painter of light László Balogh (1930-2002).
His career has started in his native town, Eger in the early 1960s. After getting to know the representatives of kinetic art – especially the wroks of Nicolas Schöffer, Hungarian by birth, living in Paris – during his study trips to Paris (1967 and 1970) and Venice (1973), he became dedicated to a pioneer of Hungarian kinetics.
Knowing the official politics of art of that period, no wonder his kinetic light-mobiles and instrumental objects only remained reduced or as maquettes instead of the originally conceived size, due to their extraordinary technical requirements. In spite of his individual and collective exhibitions, his works havent't been exposed at the originally conceived venues and community areas. They now belong to private collections.
In the 90’s He was a founding member of the György Kepes Society in Hungary, in the autumn of his life, he has been given the award of the Jackson Pollock-Lee Krasner Foundation.
By applying the possibilities and methods of the movie, we will try to reconstruct the paintings, sculptures, maquettes, drafts and personal notes as well as the most important elements of his life-works, using musical passages originally joint with the works.
