Right after the Romanian revolution (December 1989) in January, we set off to Transsylvania with Hungarian musicians - Dresch Quartet, Grencsó Collective, Tatros band -with the intention of freely recording the spirit of Transsylvania and the disengaged states after the revolution. Now we know that these moments happen very rarely in people's lives. At the first stop of the trip the musicians gave an unforgetable concert in the House of The University in Cluj. Then we set off in groups to the distant places of Transsylvania and Moldva that could have been difficult and were not allowed to be approached before. I went with my group to Moldva through Gyimes to map the folk traditions and music of these two Csángó groups. This film can be said to be the first version of the Gyimes-films. Hungary lost 2/3 of its territory and ? of its population after the peace dictate of Trianon, following World War I. There is a group of Hungarians, the Csángó people of Gyimes, isolated in the mountains, in the eastern most part of the Historical Hungary, i.e. Transylvania.
