ONLY HUNGARIAN -
Miska (Mihály Tatai) has counted as a cult figure of Győr from the end of the 70's. He worked as the assistant of a private barber in a worn-out shop at the edge of the city center but after a while the old barber was cutting the hair of his retired friends and Miska had to serve 20-40 young people. It was not because he was such a good barber but he was said that there were a lot of interesting things happening in his shop that was not typical either at that time or even today. He gave Nietsche and Ginzberg to the hands of the young people: he was the main spreader of the beat literature. He did not look like a barber with his shoulder-length hair that was rather equivalent with the hippi style of the era. As a young high school student, I got his shop when the school master said at the opening day of the school year that we did not dare to go to school the other day with long hair. But we did it and the boss in the workshop sent us to the barber immediately. We heard that Miska can do the trick that he cuts the hair a little bit and he dries it wet behind the ear. It was successful and we got used to go there. I had gone to Miska for 20 years as most people in my generation. He was the first and efficient underground opposing figure in Győr. I can say that on of the bases of the mentality of the today's MEDIAWAVE Festival roots from him. Unfortunately he died young in an accident. May his memory be preserved by this film as the basic figure of the civil culture history of Győr.
