SIBERIAN DIARY
The aim of the „PASSPORT CONTROL” project is to help the artistic activity and cooperation of the young people from Europe and the different regions of Asia in international context. The workshop chose film, photo and art critics to be the means of transmission through cultures.
During the workshop, 8 films and hundreds of photos were made that can be seen here and "Siberian diary"!
On 31 August, 2008 a delegation from MEDIAWAVE (with Pusker Péter - music programme organiser, Szabó Péter - a leader of the photo workshop, Mészáros Csaba - ethnographer and Hartyándi Jenő Festival Director) went to Siberia, where they held a film and photo workshop in Novosibirsk, a city about 5000 km far away from here, within the framework of "Meetings in Siberia" International Documentary Film Festival, in co-operation with CINEMA GARRET Workshop, for about 50 university students of film and photography. After the workshop, members of the staff became members of a film producing crew and travelled 600 km farther to the Altai region, to make a documentary film about the culture of this "blank space" of the world, with the guidance of ARTEM, a throat-singer, who had been introduced and become popular in the Festival this year.
