FLÁRE BEÁS BAND from Devecser, Hungary gave concerts at the 13th FESTIVAL OF EUROPEAN FILMS ON WHEELS as a special program of PASSPORT CONTROL 4 with the co-production of MEDIAWAVE and Ankara Film Association. The Festival takes place in the town of Kars populated mainly by the Kurdish, situated in the Eastern region of Turkey at the borderline of Armenia.
The Band didn’t only appear at the Festival programs, but they wandered around the countryside as well with the companionship of filmmaking crews of PASSPORT CONTROL workshop. They played music in the houses and the primary schools of little Kurdish villages, moreover they even starred in several movies as actors, musicians, too. During the period of the workshop two music clips were made of them.
The movie introduces you East-Turkey from the Band’s point of view with their comments on it and with the companionship of a lot of Gipsy, a little Kurdish music and dance.
